OET announces that certain prohibitions in 47 CFR part 2 are waived to allow manufacturers and vendors of counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS) included on the list of authorized systems promulgated under the SAFER SKIES Act.
This Order conditionally grants Special Temporary Authority for 180 days to State, local, Tribal, and territorial law enforcement and correctional agencies to conduct C-UAS operations that comply with the SAFER SKIES Act.
This DR clarifies the circumstances under which non-federal entities may test signal jammers to disable or disrupt radio communications used to control UAS without violating the Section 333 of the Communications Act.
This DR removes legal uncertainty that would frustrate the development and operation of technologies that will protect the public against the negligent or malicious use of UAS.
