With the retirement of WFLD "FOX 32" in Chicago SVP/General Manager Sheila Oliver, a successor in the Windy City was a choice left for FOX Television Stations Chief Executive Officer Jack Abernethy. Getting the role is the current SVP/GM of WITI "FOX 6" in Milwaukee.

Since December 2021, he has served as the Multimedia Sales Manager for Gray Media's two television stations serving the Kansas City market. Now, he's being promoted to the role of Director of Sales.
