On Debt Call, Dish Sibling Hughes OKs Bankruptcy Filing
It is a move that comes after a voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing made by its sibling, Dish DBS: EchoStar's satellite-based consumer market-focused Hughes Network Systems, has moved forward with its own bankruptcy filing. Why? The decision is primarily due to its inability to repay some $1.5 billion owed to debtholders.
Nexstar Maintains Its Quarterly Cash Dividend
Nexstar Media Group returned $56 million to shareholders in dividends during the first quarter of 2026, maintaining its regular quarterly cash dividend payout of $1.86 per share. The company founded 30 years ago by its leader, Perry Sook, has voted to do it again in Q2.
Brentlinger Completes His Phoenix AM Purchase
It had been the home of “The Fanatic,” offering a Sports Talk format under owner CRC Broadcasting. Today, the facility is officially under the ownership of Ken Brentlinger, in a transaction that saw Jon Yinger of Broadcast Properties LLC serve as the exclusive broker.

"These individuals have received induction by the determination of the Radio Hall of Fame 2026 Nominating Committee, who annually meet to determine inductees who contributed with greatness to the radio industry and have since passed away," the Chicago-based Radio Hall of Fame announced on Monday.
